Half My Heart Beats moved to Saturday 15th August

halfmyheartbeatsthree-A6

Just a quick note to let you know that, for one month only, the August Half My Heart Beats night will move to the third Saturday of the month (that's Saturday 15th August).

Things will be back to normal come September, when we've got a beast of a popshow lined up. Hopefully we'll be able to tell you more about that soon.

Less than two weeks until The Lucksmiths arrive! Eeee!

Half My Heart Beats 10 tomorrow!

halfmyheartbeatsthree-A6

It's that time again... tomorrow is the tenth instalment of Half My Heart Beats, and it's set to be a doozy.

We've got an early start, with Withered Hand, Sacramento and The Paraffins playing live from 8pm. The club itself kicks off at 11pm playing indiepop, girl groups and more.

Personally I've put together a noisy set this month, with abrasive but gorgeous indiepop from The Raveonettes, Crystal Stilts, Vivian Girls, Josef K, Shop Assistants and The Wedding Present among others.

Lynsey has promised Math and Physics Club, The Flatmates, The Lucksmiths, Talulah Gosh, Jonathan Richman and more, so between us you're guaranteed to hear plenty of stuff that's up your alley, if that alley is marked 'unpopular pop music'.

As always, last minute requests are welcome. Unless it's The Killers. Someone always asks for The Killers. Not tonight, pal!

Withered Hand in session on BBC 6 Music

Just a quick post to alert you to a session Withered Hand recorded for Marc Riley's show on BBC 6 Music last week. I don't think these stay online for long, so it's worth having a listen now if you're interested.

They play three songs in total, the first right at the start of the show then two from 47 minutes in, if you want to fast forward the other stuff.

The reason I mention this, of course, is that Dan from Withered Hand will be playing at the next Half My Heart Beats this Saturday, 13th June, at The Flying Duck along with Sacramento from Madrid and The Paraffins from Glasgow.

Here's another Withered Hand song called Love In The Time Of Ecstacy, brought to you by the medium of crap mobile phone video. The song's anything but crap though.

Poster for The Lucksmiths

The Lucksmiths poster

Here's the poster design for our gig with The Lucksmiths on 9th July, which was designed for us by the mysterious Indiehorse. It's an S away from being bloody perfect.

You should be starting to see these displayed prominently in Glasgow's hip record shops, vegan restaurants and wherever else will let us put one up in the next few days.

Remember, tickets are available at Wegottickets.

Withered Hand, Sacramento & The Paraffins - Saturday 13th June

I bring glad tidings of another pre-club popshow at our next night on Saturday 13th June. Our good friend Nacho is an honorary Glaswegian for the summer, and is bringing over some Spanish friends to play their first Glasgow show. Sacramento are coming over from Madrid, and will be joined on the bill by Glasgow's The Paraffins and Edinburgh's Withered Hand. The gig will be in the Flying Duck, as usual, and tickets are £4 on the door. Doors at 8pm, first band on at 8.30pm sharp! Hope to see y'all there.
